FAQ & Training Articles

Training articles

On GoDartsPro we’ve got leaderboards all over the place. In the Premium League, Monthly Challenges, Enduro Challenge, Team’s areas and also integrated in some of our popular games. But is it all just for fun or is there some deeper meaning to them? Let’s find out!

What’s up with the leaderboards!?

Some members might look at the leaderboards briefly without really paying attention or using it to benefit their darts training. It is just a bunch of members, flags, scores that also change from time to time.
But there’s a deeper meaning to them and the members who knows how to use them have another tool in their pocket for their darts training.

Spending hours practising darts on your own can be boring, and sometimes really hard to keep the focus, but that can still be the best way forward. If you do it the right way!
Just playing bots in 501’s will make you improve over time, but there’s better ways to spend your hours doing your training.

To get the most out of your training you should practise with intention, fully focused and with a clear goal.

Smart leaderboard strategy

So to use the leaderboards to your advantage, pick a leaderboard on GoDartsPro – let’s say the Premium League leaderboard for the game Exponential Bundle. Check out the scores and then click the Play the game button. The Premium League format is explained more in detail below, but once you’ve played it a few times you will see how your total score is compared to the leaderboard. It shows your best 10 sessions the past 30 days, so make sure to play the game at least 10 times in a few days to fill up the scoring slots.

Once you have filled up all the 10 scores, look at the red score in your list of score and try to beat that.

Once your total score is shown in the leaderboard, look at the player above you in the list and try to beat that score. Repeat and work your way to the top of the leaderboard, and once your in #1 – celebrate and have some rest!

Buy constantly working to beat your worst score or the player’s score in the list above you, you will be focused, practise with intention, working with a clear goal in mind!

When you’ve done this for a while with a game and maybe having trouble improving your scores, pick a new game and use the same strategy there. I’ve talked to a few well known PDC players who use this strategy on GoDartsPro regularly, to get a better meaning with their hours at the board. If it is good strategy for them, I think it is a good strategy for most of you out there!

There are many games available to pick games suitable for your current level!

Premium League leaderboards

In the Premium League you can choose between 11 games and the players scores in the leaderboard are based on the 10 best sessions the past 30 days! This is a special feature used in a few leaderboards on GoDartsPro. Since it shows the 10 best the past 30 days means that it is always fresh, updated regularly, and if you don’t play the game for a while your ranking in the leaderboard will drop.

And if you practise with intent, focused and with a clear goal regularly – you will improve faster!

The red score in your list of scores is the one you should focus on. This is your worst score and the score to beat to improve your total score. The green score is your best score and if you’re in a good game session go for this and try to beat it!

The Monthly Challenges

The Monthly Challenges on GoDartsPro has got many games to choose from and each starts from zero first thing every month. For these leaderboards we also have the Challenge Ranking Points (CRP) to practise hard for over the year.
In the section for the Monthly Challenges you will also see a special leaderboard for the members who are working hardest with the Virtual Coach on GoDartsPro!

If you have connected and became friends with other members on GoDartsPro you can also see specific leaderboards among your friends. That’s a great way to use social darts training to improve!

The Enduro Challenge

The Enduro Challenge was introduced in 2022 since I heard many members complaining they found it hard to stay inspired to practise during the summer.

So we came up with the format of 5 different games to play during 10 weeks (end of June to start of September). The games can be played as many times as you want to during the week and the best score will represent the score for that game that week. For every game type you play each week, you get a ticket. So maximum 5 tickets each week and maximum 50 tickets after 10 weeks. Each week there will be winners randomly picked who will win prizes from the sponsors.

Team Leaderbords

On GoDartsPro, clubs/teams/friends can set up a Team license to use with their coach/team manager. In their area they have several leaderboards where only the team players is shown to have their internal battles.

In-game Leaderboards

In some popular games you will also see leaderboards on the startpage of the game. These are also based on the best scores the past 30 days so if you stop playing the game, your score will drop out of the game.
When you select a game like this, for example the Master-501, pay attention to the leaderboard. If you’re already in the leaderboard, focus on the players result just above you in the list and try to beat it. Otherwise check the score in the bottom and try to beat that to enter the list.

Conclusions

So now you’ve found another tool on GoDartsPro to use in your darting journey. Make sure to vary the games, plan your training and vary the intensity of your training to get the most out of it.
